About Forgetting and Rediscovery

Kay and Gerda are like brother and sister and are devoted to each other. In the evenings, her grandmother tells them about the Snow Queen, who freezes people’s hearts to ice. One day, a shard of a magic mirror gets into Kay’s eye and, unwillingly, he follows the Snow Queen into her kingdom. Gerda sets out to search for her friend. On her way north, she falls under the spell of a sorceress and into the clutches of a band of robbers. But she also finds allies. Two crows, a young royal-couple, a robber girl, and a reindeer all help her, enabling her to finally make her way to the Snow Queen’s palace. There, surrounded by ice, Kay faces an impossible task from which only Gerda can save him.

This timeless fairy tale for children and adults is both a thrilling adventure and, at the same time, figuratively poetic.
